Internet search giant Google Inc has launched a programme to help women entrepreneurs grow their businesses through an online presence.
The program, 'Women Entrepreneurs on the Web' (WEOW), aims to help women entrepreneurs across India grow their online presence.
It would provide women entrepreneurs support on using various web-based technologies in their day-to-day business while increasing the outreach to their customer base.
"We are very excited to announce the launch of the WEOW programme in India as a targeted business diversity programme for women entrepreneurs," Google said in a statement.
The programme involves a five-circle approach that starts with building an online presence and moves toward collaborating effectively, connecting with customers and promoting their organisations, besides tracking and optimising their online presence.
"We soon realised that they were true entrepreneurs and clearly not afraid to try new things, yet many were unaware of various products that can be used to leverage the full potential of the internet... The large number of women entrepreneurs in India made it a natural decision for us to pilot this initiative here," Google added.
