The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) on Monday announced to run a crash course for CA entrance examination -Common Proficiency Test (CPT)- aspirants. The public telecom giant would charge Rs 6750 per student and also offer chargeable hostel and mess facility.
BSNL Indore General Manger GC Pandey said the crash course would be run as part of company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. The charges for the course are meant to recover company's cost to be incurred on resources like power bills, course material etc, he added.
The GM added that crash courses for other entrance tests including management, engineering would be started once the CPT crash course succeeds.
The BSNL has offered a two-month crash course which would get underway on April 4.
The department wing 'Circle Telecom Training Centre' (CTTC), which imparts training to department staff for upgrading their skills, will conduct the course.
DK Jain, principal of CTTC, told that department officers would be engaged for teaching students in this crash course.
The centre expects to receive 80 aspirants who would be divided into two batches. Jain claimed that private tutorials charge up to Rs 20,000 for a similar course but the charges to be recovered by the centre would be nominal.
No test would be conducted for admitting students in this course.
"Department engineers would be asked to teach mathematics while department's CAs would share the responsibility of teaching commerce," Jain said.
