Dear college, can u suggest me that will it make any difference to enter into an agreement with employer to pay half voluntary retirement compensation in this F/y and remaining in next FY. Now my q is that whether the remaining half compensation will be taxable in next year or in current year itself. |

Dear Vikas, as far as i concern, it will be taxable in the current year itself. Please always try to understand the intention of legislature. If the in the above situation it will be taxable next year then anybody could easily avoid tax and nobody will going to pay tax on these types of earnings.
It will be termed as tax avoidence instead of tax planning.
It looks like that i just started to give a lecture on that -:))))
In precise under the above situation, VRS will be going to tax in the current year itself, have a nice day Vikas........
