Please Help: Service tax payment in March on provisional basis

Sir, can we pay the excess service tax in the month of march by 31st March on provisional basis. If we can pay, then can we adjust the excess amount paid for the payment of service tax in the month of April. Please tell the limit of excess payment and is there any application to be filed for the same. Thanks
