Government Appoints Rama Mohan Rao Amara as SBI Managing Director
The State Bank of India (SBI) announced on Wednesday that the Government of India has appointed Rama Mohan Rao Amara as the new Managing Director of the bank. This appointment was reported by Reuters, citing sources.

Amara's appointment has been approved for a period of three years; the report stated further.
Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the decision.
In September this year, Amara was recommended for the position by FSIB, the head hunter for directors of state-owned banks and institutions.
With this appointment, Amara is set to fill the vacancy created by CS Setty, the current Chairman of the Bank.
