Seven Public Sector Banks Appoint New Executive Directors
The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) had recommended 11 senior banking officials in August 2025 for appointment as Executive Directors (EDs), subject to the availability of vacancies for the 2025–26 panel year.
Following this, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the Department of Financial Services’ proposals to promote several Chief General Managers (CGMs) to Executive Director positions across seven public sector banks, including Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank and Union Bank of India.
As a result, Amit Kumar Srivastava, Amresh Prasad and Sunil Kumar Chugh of PNB were appointed as EDs in PNB, Union Bank of India and Canara Bank, respectively. E. Ratan Kumar of Central Bank of India and Pramod Kumar Dwibedi of Bank of India were elevated as EDs in their respective banks. Similarly, Mini T.M. of Bank of Baroda and Prabhat Kiran of Canara Bank were promoted as EDs of Indian Bank and Bank of Maharashtra. The FSIB had shortlisted these candidates after interviews of 80 senior officers from various nationalised banks conducted between 19 July and 4 August 2025.
