J&K Reports ₹82 Crore Year-on-Year Fall in June GST Revenue
Jammu and Kashmir reported a 15% year-on-year decline in Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections during June 2026, according to state-wise revenue figures released by the Union Ministry of Finance.
GST revenue from the Union Territory stood at ₹470 crore during the month, compared with ₹552 crore in June 2025. This represents an absolute reduction of ₹82 crore.
National GST Revenue Registers Growth
At the national level, gross GST collections increased by 7% to ₹1,34,774 crore in June 2026 from ₹1,26,506 crore in the corresponding month of the previous year.
The nationwide increase contrasted with the decline reported by Jammu and Kashmir and several other states and Union Territories.
GST Performance in Neighbouring Regions
Himachal Pradesh recorded a 26% fall in GST revenue, with collections declining from ₹895 crore to ₹661 crore. Uttarakhand’s collections dropped 21% to ₹1,334 crore from ₹1,688 crore.
Ladakh collected ₹26 crore during June 2026, reflecting a 7% decline from ₹28 crore in June 2025.
Punjab, however, registered a 14% increase in collections to ₹2,491 crore from ₹2,186 crore. Haryana’s GST revenue grew 9% to ₹10,065 crore, while Delhi posted an 8% rise to ₹5,987 crore. Chandigarh collected ₹229 crore, representing year-on-year growth of 7%.
Major States Record Mixed Collection Trends
Uttar Pradesh registered a 19% increase in GST collections to ₹9,165 crore, while Assam reported 17% growth to ₹1,492 crore. Gujarat’s collections rose 12% to ₹11,743 crore, and Karnataka recorded a 10% increase to ₹12,937 crore.
Maharashtra remained the largest contributor, collecting ₹30,714 crore after recording 9% year-on-year growth.
Among regions reporting weaker revenue, Sikkim registered the sharpest decline at 53%. Puducherry recorded a 28% reduction, followed by Jharkhand at 16%. Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh each reported a 5% fall.
