ICAI Projects Significant Growth in Chartered Accountant Requirement by 2047

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has indicated that the country will require a substantially larger pool of Chartered Accountants over the coming decades to support economic growth, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, auditing, taxation, and corporate governance requirements.

According to information shared during a recent interaction, India is expected to need more than 30 lakh Chartered Accountants by the year 2047, marking the centenary of the country's independence. The projection reflects the anticipated expansion of businesses, financial markets, startups, public sector entities, and compliance-driven sectors across the economy.
