India’s Net Direct Tax Collections Rise 16.40% to ₹6.52 Lakh Crore
India’s net direct tax collections for Financial Year 2026–27 reached ₹6,51,189.81 crore as of July 13, 2026, registering year-on-year growth of 16.40%. The net collection stood at ₹5,59,424.72 crore during the corresponding period of FY 2025–26.
Gross direct tax collections increased by 16.11% to ₹7,73,681.68 crore, compared with ₹6,66,337.20 crore collected as of July 13, 2025.
Corporate tax collections before refunds rose to ₹3,35,386.27 crore, while gross non-corporate tax collections stood at ₹4,11,853.80 crore. Securities Transaction Tax contributed ₹26,428.96 crore during the reported period.
The government issued direct tax refunds amounting to ₹1,22,491.87 crore, reflecting growth of 14.57% over refunds of ₹1,06,912.48 crore issued during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The figures indicate continued growth in direct tax receipts during the initial months of FY 2026–27.
