RBI injected over Rs. 40,000 crore into the banking system through 2 Auctions
Reserve Bank of India injected over Rs.40,000 crore into the banking system through two operations, addressing a liquidity deficit that breached Rs.2 lakh crore. The RBI accepted Rs.30,760 crore from overnight VRR auction and Rs.9,892 crore from government securities buyback. Another VRR auction of Rs.50,000 crore is announced for Friday, to be reversed on Monday.
Mumbai: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) injected slightly more than Rs.40,000 crore into the banking system under two separate operations on Thursday, a day after the banking system liquidity gap breached the Rs.2 lakh crore threshold.
