NDMC Offers Early Payment Rebate on Property Tax for Financial Year 2026-27

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has announced a 10% rebate on property tax payments for the financial year 2026-27 for taxpayers who clear their property tax liabilities on or before June 30, 2026.

According to the official announcement, property owners within the NDMC jurisdiction can avail themselves of the rebate by making timely payment of their property tax dues before the prescribed deadline. The measure has been introduced to encourage early tax compliance and support efficient revenue collection.

Rebate Available for Timely Payment

The concession is applicable to eligible property taxpayers who complete payment of their property tax dues by June 30. NDMC has encouraged taxpayers to utilize the rebate facility and complete payments within the stipulated period to benefit from the available tax savings.

Continuing Compliance Incentive

The rebate scheme forms part of NDMC’s ongoing property tax collection initiatives. Similar incentives have been provided in previous years, including a 10% rebate offered for property tax payments made before June 30 during the preceding financial year.

Property Tax Assessment Framework Undergoing Changes

The announcement comes alongside developments in the property taxation framework applicable within the NDMC area. Legislative amendments approved earlier this year have enabled the adoption of a uniform Unit Area Method (UAM) for property tax assessment across the jurisdiction.

The revised assessment mechanism is expected to replace the existing rateable value-based system for remaining properties and facilitate greater consistency and uniformity in property tax calculations.
