Income Tax Department Releases ITR-5 Excel Utility for AY 2026-27

The Income Tax Department has made the Excel Utility of ITR-5 available for filing for Assessment Year 2026-27. The update was issued on 07 July 2026.

ITR-5 is generally applicable to firms, LLPs, Association of Persons, Body of Individuals, Artificial Juridical Persons, estates of deceased or insolvent persons, business trusts, investment funds and other eligible entities, subject to the provisions of the Income Tax Act.

Eligible taxpayers can now use the Excel-based utility to prepare and file their income tax return for AY 2026-27. Taxpayers and professionals should verify the applicable return form, financial details, tax computation, deductions, audit requirements and reporting disclosures before submission. CA Sansaar
