Please Help: Interest on NSC

Whether accrued interest on NSC is allowed for deduction? If such interest is received during the year, is your answer will be different?

yes the accrued int. on nsc will be allowed as a deduction u/s 80c but in year of receipt it will not be allowed as a deduction
