Please Help: Stamp paper

Dear Expert, When we prepare legal deed and documents,,,then how do we come to know about the amount of stamp paper,,,,Some times it may be Rs.100,,,Rs 50,,,and some time Rs. 10,,,,,So is there any statute governing the same or is it a subjective matter,,,,please clarify,

Amount of stampt duty to be paid..i.e, amount of stamp papers required for different transactions is governed by INDIAN STAMP ACT 1899. So it is not a subjective matter, There is a proper statue governing the same..which is INDIAN STAMP ACT 1899.

practically Indian Stamp Act governs the same... also when you go to buy the stamp paper the seller asks you the purpose and than also suggets you that the amount of stamp paper demanded by you is definite or not...

Refer stamp act 1899 and can use 100 RS STAMP

Mr. Lavin ,The seller wil always suggest higher amount ,,,so I think this should not be the correct.
