Can Cenvat of Service tax be utilised even if it is not directly or indirectly related to the Head of service for which service provider is regd.? |

Credit can be taken and utilised for input services used in providing output services even though service provider may not be registered for that particular output service.

If the expenditure incurred is covered by inclusive part of the definition of Input Service as provided under Cenvat Credit Rules, credit shall be admissible notwithstanding the fact that it may not be directly related to provision of output service.

Is this statement still valid when input service is not directly or indirectly utilised for providing output service. |
