CAG to Launch Unified Audit Cadres for Revenue and Expenditure

The Director General of Audit (Central Expenditure), through Circular No. 43 dated 21.11.2025, has introduced a major initiative to create centralized cadres for Central Expenditure Audit (CEA) and Central Revenue Audit (CRA).
This restructuring aims to address existing disparities in staffing and enhance the overall efficiency and performance of audit operations. As part of this reform, all current Senior Audit Officers (SAOs) and Assistant Audit Officers (AAOs) are required to participate in a one-time cadre selection process. The option window remains open until 05.12.2025 (11:59 pm), and submissions must be made exclusively via the SAI Capacity Building Portal.
