Direct Tax Revenue in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana Records Strong Growth Through July 17
Direct tax collections across the combined Andhra Pradesh and Telangana region registered year-on-year growth of 19.47% during FY 2026–27 up to July 17, 2026. The regional Income Tax Department reported net collections of ₹41,568.05 crores against gross receipts of ₹46,552.15 crore during this period.
The figures were presented following a review of revenue performance and taxpayer compliance in the two states. According to the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the department’s focus on administrative efficiency, wider taxpayer participation and improved compliance contributed to the increase in revenue.
During FY 2025–26, the combined region reported gross direct tax collections of ₹1,45,971.52 crores. After issuing refunds amounting to ₹22,234.47 crore, net collections stood at ₹1,23,737.05 crore, representing annual growth of 3.80%.
The latest figures indicate a notable acceleration in collection growth during the current financial year. Net revenue of ₹41,568.05 crore recorded up to July 17 reflects an increase of 19.47% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year.
Andhra Pradesh separately reported net tax collections of ₹6,607.53 crores from gross receipts of ₹9,043.54 crore during FY 2026–27 up to July 17. The state’s net collections increased by 17% over the corresponding period.
For the full FY 2025–26, Andhra Pradesh had recorded net direct tax collections of ₹22,542.32 crores, reflecting growth of 4.82%. The current-year performance shows an improvement in the pace of revenue mobilisation within the state. CA Sansaar
