Income Tax Dept Strengthens Stakeholder Engagement with Outreach on IT Act 2025
The Income Tax Department organised a comprehensive outreach programme in New Delhi on Tuesday with the objective of promoting financial literacy and creating widespread awareness about the newly introduced Income Tax Act, 2025.
The initiative was undertaken as part of the department’s continued efforts to engage with stakeholders and ensure better understanding of tax laws among institutions. According to the Ministry of Finance, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from representatives of more than 80 schools across the Delhi-NCR region. Trustees, administrators, and other functionaries associated with educational institutions were also present, reflecting a strong response from the academic community.
The programme served as an interactive platform where participants were informed about the importance of tax compliance, transparency, and financial discipline. It also provided an opportunity for attendees to seek clarifications on various provisions of the new law and understand its practical implications for educational institutions, particularly those operating under the exemptions category.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemptions), Ms. Pallavi Agarwal, elaborated on the key features and objectives of the Income Tax Act, 2025. She explained that the new legislation has been framed with a focus on simplifying tax procedures, reducing interpretational ambiguities, and making compliance more user-friendly. Emphasising the government’s push towards digital governance, she highlighted that the Act incorporates streamlined, technology-driven processes aimed at improving efficiency, accountability, and transparency in tax administration.
She further noted that such outreach initiatives play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the tax authorities and stakeholders, ensuring that institutions are well-informed and better equipped to comply with the evolving regulatory framework.
