CBIC Notifies Concessional Customs Duty on UK Imports

Notification No. 29/2026-Customs

New Delhi, the 14th July, 2026

The Central Government has issued Notification No. 29/2026-Customs, dated 14 July 2026, prescribing concessional customs duty rates for specified goods imported into India from the United Kingdom.

The notification provides reduced or nil rates of Basic Customs Duty, Agriculture Infrastructure and Development Cess and Health Cess on eligible goods listed in three tables. It also introduces Tariff Rate Quotas for specified completely built motor vehicles and goods-transport vehicles.

Importers must establish that the goods originate in the United Kingdom in accordance with the applicable Rules of Origin and the Customs (Administration of Rules of Origin under Trade Agreements) Rules, 2020. TRQ benefits require electronic authorisation from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade. The notification takes effect from 15 July 2026. CA Sansaar
