what is the process to change the name of sole proprietorship

Sole proprietorship is not like registered firm or company if any one wants to change the name , first make affidavid then give the information to the income tax if that name was used for income tax for PAN then a new PAN will be allowted otherwise its not necessary to the extent of my knowledge.

Dear to change the name of sole proprietorship you have to give affidavit and publish the notice in newspaper so that the person who are associated with the firm will be known to the change. In case of the Income Tax you need not to change the PAN No. because PAN No will remain same in the name of proprietor only.
