yes if the assessee have income from house property or capital gain along with salary then itr 2 should be used.

Categorization of forms is for ease in processing of return for assessing officers and now for computers. so one should use the proper form prescribed for filling the return.

As per your query he is a salaried person that mean have no any income from other than salary. Thus it is clear you have to use ITR 1 Sahaj and finally i have to say "kyo difficult me jaoge Bhai".
