TDS return not filed on the due date beacause of falling sunday on the due date. Will the next day after the due date be considered as filing the return on time.

To the extent of my knowledge if due date is a public holiday then one can be filed on next working day immediately following the holiday.

Dear Vinay, as far as i concern, it will be delayed and will not be assumed in time, Hope you got the reply you were looking for, have a nice day...........
answered Jul 16, 2012 by Krishna Chandra Santi , Chennai
As per my knowledge if you will file after due date i.e. after 15th July 2012, then you have to pay interest as it will be treated as delayed filing. Because IT department is not forcing you to wait till last date, you already have time till 14th July 2012. As per normal provision there is no restriction on delayed filing, but the only matter is you have to pay interest additionally.
