Is it compulsory or necessary to sumbit the service tax return in hard copy to the deapartment if we have submited the return online.... Please clarify

No, it is not required to submit hard copy of return in the department after efiling the same. efiling is in itself a complete procedure.( This is directly confirmed from the department. )

As far as i concern, it is required to submit the hard copy of the same e-filed return to the department within 30 days of the e-filing of service tax return.......

Dear Vikas,
Please note that where the service tax return is filed electronically through ACES, there is no requirement to submit hard copy of the same. In this regard, you can refer Circular No. 919 / 09 / 2010 - CX dated 23rd March, 2010 wherein it was clarified that wherever the returns are submitted through ACES there will not be any requirement to submit signed hard copy separately.(Link http://www.cbec.gov.in/excise/cx-circulars/cx-circulars-10/919-2k10cx.htm).
