Additional Tax on tax that we pay. Education cess is 2% and Higher Education Cess is 1%

it is charged by central govt. for the purposes of promoting education in the country(India). @3% on respective incomes of firms/local authorities/cooperative society/ etc.. after charging respective taxes & surcharges.
