in restaurant service tax and vat both are applicable.
so when to charge vat after charging service tax or before service tax?

As per my knowledge you have to charge vat before charging service tax.

08-Aug-2012 , 11:42:37 pmFirst of all Vat is charged on sale and there will be no TDS on sale. Service tax will be charged on service provided and Tds will be charged on service charged amount. Now came to your question first charge Vat on sale amount then service charge amount and charges service tax on service charged amount and deduct TDS on total amount i.e. (service charge amount + service tax amount).
